For over 20 years now, I've been privileged enough to DJ at many different venues. After growing up with a passion for music and electronics (amplifiers, speakers, etc.), I began my career as a DJ performing at college parties and friends' weddings in the mid nineties, even DJ'd at some school dances, and a few clubs and raves, back in the day! After working for some local DJ companies, and going through the event planning process first hand with my wedding in 2002, I decided that I wanted to provide a DJ service far beyond what is normally offered as a mobile DJ. So I decided to move forward and start my own business in 2003: Adam's DJ Service! Since July of 2007, this is how I’ve made my full-time income to help feed my family and pay the bills. About 5 years ago, I launched a 2nd company, NW Event Lighting, a business specializing in all sorts of lighting to provide a “wow” factor at events! I also freelance as an audio, video and lighting tech for other AV companies, I lead teams for a national linen company at larger events and you might even catch me helping install vinyl artwork for a friend on another day!
Even though I can be seen utilizing my DJ skills (turntable style mixing, seamless mixing, custom remixes and edits, etc.) at holiday parties, class reunions, corporate events, birthdays and anniversaries, weddings hold a special place in my heart. The first reason weddings hold a special place in my heart is that I was recently married (nearly 17 years and counting!), so I know how much time and effort goes into planning the perfect day (I’ve learned a lot over the years and I continue to learn...yes, even after 2000+ weddings & events!). I will always go out of my way to do my best and make sure that your dream wedding becomes a reality!
I do this by providing information to help you plan and customize the music and flow of events for your wedding; I also cover all bases and make sure all steps are taken to ensure that your business transaction with me goes smoothly from beginning to end. Nothing makes me happier than to see a my clients and their guests enjoy their favorite dance tunes at their events! Since I do this full time, my clients use me as a resource to plan their entire event, not just help with music at their event. I'm about more than just music, as I take pride in helping my clients with all production aspects of their events (Audio, Video, Lighting, Decor, etc.). If I can't do it in house, I can refer the professionals you need for your event through the relationships I've made within great organizations like the US Disc Jockey Association, NACE, ABC, ILEA, The Wedding Network Seattle or even some local chambers of commerce and CVBs!
And since I’ve helped create so much demand for the style, philosophy and service oriented process I put into place, I had to hire some good people to help me grow the business (some clients will never forget Travis or Lars!). However, after growing the business from 2007 to 2012, I decided (like the lead singer of a band) to go solo. Keep in mind, now that my hobby turned side business turned career has blown up, I book events up to two years in advance! So it’s never too early to meet with me and see how I can help make your event a success!
Whether your event is in a back yard, on a boat, at the top of the Space Needle or at a fancy hotel, I can accommodate you. Whether your event has 20 people (my smallest event) or more than 2,000 people, I will always do my best for you.
My uniquley professional and entertaining style as a DJ and MC has earned me many referrals and recommendations from wedding planners, venues, caterers, photographers, many other vendors and many happy clients. All I ask is for an opportunity to be of service to you and help make that special event a memory you can cherish for the rest of your days.
People always ask me what makes me different than other DJs out there, and if it had to be one thing, it would be my passion for music, people, sound and lighting gear! Otherwise, my unique edits and remixes are fun to surprise people with, my seamless mixing style utilizing the Denon Prime platform keeps people dancing and the personalization I try to put into every event to play relevant songs at the right times, set me apart from the rest. Not to mention, I hear I am a decent MC, too. So all I ask for is an opportunity to serve you and help you pull off a successful event.
Thank you for taking the time to look through my website! And please let me know if I can be of service to you.

For the gear nuts out there, here are some of the instruments/tools I have DJ'd with over the years:
I started in college with two Fischer portable CD players and an Optimus Radio Shack mixer. When power was pulled at parties, and plugged back in after silence and boos on the dance floor, the song would pick back up where it left off!
My first official DJ setup was a Pioneer DJM-300 with two Pioneer CDJ-100s (most of my music was on CD). I added some roland midi gear and Technics SL1200 M3D Turntables - purely for experimentational purposes. I have played many hours on these with Pioneer DJM-500/600/900 mixers, Roland, Vestax, Rane, Numark and Denon Mixers, too!
After collecting many records, I still liked the precision with the CD players, especially when Pioneer came out with the CDJ 800s and 1000s. So I ran through some of those, and 800 mk2s as well before the next step.
Denon HD-2500 was my weopon of choice for most events from 2007-2017. I still take it out and use it for most wedding ceremonys and non-dancing events. It is so reliable and there is a proprietary function for background music at events that is unmatched in any current DJ technology (c-fade and relay play). I wish Denon DJ would bring this back in their next Prime firmware update!...
Denon SC-5000 Prime media players and the X1800 Prime mixer are my current weapon of choice for mixing music and especially for dance floors! This combination of instruments is amazing at mixing music - allows me to be an open format DJ machine! I like the Denon Prime setup because it doesn't require a laptop and has some serious technology with making sure the music sounds awesome when sped up or slowed down. These units have processors built in and are connected via network cable to share data (songs, cue points, bpm, etc.). I can DJ on CDJ-2000s and DJM style mixers, even tried Serato, Virtual DJ, Traktor and controllers. This setup eclipses them all, IMHO. I am in the process of debating to sell my turntables and Mixars Duo (yes, I even tried out the Pioneer S-9!).
I have an array of Shure PGX microphones and have recently began to upgrade to Shure QLX Digital systems in 2018. Their sound quality (KSM 8) is amazing and the reliability is top notch!
Feel free to ask me about other gear, like projectors, lighting controllers, video switchers and other gear I use on a regular basis!
